“Sometimes things happen because you are in the right place at the right time… other times things happen because your commitment, your passion, your perseverance and your sacrifices are recognized by someone who appreciates your work and your professionalism”
The experience of the project that was commissioned to us some time ago presented us with a new challenge that reminded us that we should “Never Give Up” just like that. Because if we had done so we would have missed a great opportunity.
Some time ago a local company (whose name we will not mention out of respect for privacy) contacted us with a request for RUBBER/SAND separation coming from the recovery of synthetic sports fields. At first contact we clearly didn’t understand what it was about, since many of our systems are designed and built to separate metals. In any case, we ask the customer to view a sample of material to begin to understand how it can be separated, also following the suggestions of the customer who had already carried out other tests.
Let’s start with a test on the SV type aeraulic separator, we start to adjust the machine, but we don’t get the desired result, we change a few adjustments, we see that something improves, but not enough. Nothing… we understand that the size of the material is not suitable for this type of separation, the customer proposes to carry out a second test with a different material, and we clearly accept the proposal. 15 days pass and we go back to the SV separator with the new material, we try some adjustments, something has improved but still not enough, some of the material was still mixed.
At this point the relationship is interrupted for some time, until the customer contacts us again, putting us in contact with his son, who on this occasion brings us 5 different samples of sand and rubber mixed together.
For the third occasion we repeat the test with our SV separator and we begin to carry out various tests, still nothing good, the discouragement and disappointment were great in the face of the impotence of obtaining a tangible, evident result, with a material that on the ” paper” we considered excellent for our SV separator. Instead only mediocre results and a few confused ideas on how to do it.
Then finally, almost as a last attempt, more to settle our conscience and not have regrets, let’s turn our attention for a moment to our DM100 densimetric separator, we take a handful of sand and rubber and throw it on and GO!! the light bulb turns on! …. in an instant the rubber and sand separate perfectly… unbelievable. So we take a second handful, then a third then the whole container and what do we get? A perfect separation of rubber and sand… INCREDIBLE…. really… we were doing everything wrong, we were paying attention to the SV separator instead of the DM.
Extremely happy and satisfied with the result, we immediately organized a test of a few tons of material to understand the real performance of the separator on the material, the productivity, and to identify any bottlenecks or problems that could have arisen in a “full capacity” separation. This test also passes excellently.
The satisfied customer asks us for a quote for a DM100 separator.
Once the first DM100 was built and delivered, shortly afterwards he commissioned two DM50 machines from us which we managed to deliver within a few months. All 3 machines enter full production and the Customer has the opportunity to understand in more depth how the entire separation cycle for his material works and develops.
After a few months we have a surprise, one day the customer calls us back to tell us that he has studied a mobile plant for the processing and separation of sports fields on site and that he wanted to mount our DM series densimetric separators in his plants. Great news and new challenge. Our machines are not made to fit in a container, so we are starting to redesign the dimensions and spaces to contain everything in 2.5 meters of width, chain problems to be resolved and tight times for the delivery of the first two DM50s which they will go to a mobile facility in Norway.
In this new adventure we have learned a lot and we have understood and solved various problems that you can only realize when you encounter them. After a test lasting several months, the customer in Norway was followed by a second system for the USA with N° 3 DM100 and N° 1 DM50 and a third system for Australia with N° 2 DM100 and N° 1 DM50 and the prospects for the future they are growing with new plants to be developed all over the world.
After some time we look back on this project with a smile, however the work behind it was tiring and very demanding. We had to adapt one of our machines to the customer’s reality and to the limited spaces available, furthermore every feedback from the previously delivered systems completed a puzzle of details and customizations that make these DM100 and DM50 separators unique for this type of separation.
If we had rejected the project some time ago or had not tried and tried again until we understood, we would have given up a great opportunity for us, for our client and also for the environment. In life and work, 9 times out of 10, commitment, dedication and perseverance are rewarded. This is what we have learned in many years of working with multiple clients who had different problems and who turned to us because they believed in our abilities and professionalism in facing new challenges together every day to obtain the desired result.
Thanks to all the Customers who believed and continue to believe in us, entrusting us every day with a mission and an important task to carry out “to solve their problem in the best possible way”
